From the moment I met Reid and Eli, I knew this shoot would be something special. They’re not just partners in life they’re both pilots! The kind of couple whose relationship has literally taken them around the world. And while I’ve photographed love stories across Puerto Rico, spending the afternoon wandering through Old San Juan with two pilots in love felt like stepping into a movie.


We spent the day chasing light through the cobblestone streets, between bursts of laughter and stories about their travels some romantic, some downright hilarious. At one point, I admitted one of my biggest fears: flying. (I know, ironic for someone obsessed with destination weddings and travel!) Naturally, I couldn’t resist grilling them about flight safety. They handled my questions like pros, calmly explaining all the little details that make air travel one of the safest ways to move through the world. I left with a little less fear… and a lot more respect for what they do every day.


Their chemistry was effortless. Between the colorful walls, the ocean breeze, and the hum of the city, it felt like Old San Juan was celebrating right alongside them. These are the moments I live for as a photographer the in-between gestures, the laughter mid-kiss, the quiet pauses that say this is home, no matter where we land next.


As the sun set, we said our goodbyes until their wedding this October. One was heading to Mexico, the other to Missouri—one destination a bit more exciting than the other (their words, not mine!). But even with oceans and time zones between them, their connection felt unshakable.


It’s shoots like these that remind me why I love documenting love stories in all their forms. Whether it’s two brides, two grooms, or anyone in between - love is love. And in Old San Juan, surrounded by history and color, that truth shines brighter than ever.
